Jon Cena and Brock Lesnar went one-on-one at Wrestlepalooza on Saturday, September.

The fans were vouching for The Never Seen 17 to pick up an exciting victory over The Beast Incarnate during his last run in the promotion. However, contrary to what many people wanted to see, Lesnar defeated Cena at the Gainbridge Arena in Indianapolis in a brutal fashion.

Cena couldn’t stand the wrath of The Conqueror and fell victim to the six deadly F5s he received in the middle of the ring. Following his dominating victory over The Last Real Champion, Lesnar sent a message to Cena with another F5 before exiting the ring and going backstage.

After witnessing the shocking finish of the match and the aftermath, fans were convinced that this was not the last time the two legends were going to step inside the ring against each other. People were convinced that WWE would book them again for one last dance inside the ring. However, a new report has dashed the hopes of millions.

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar Will Not Happen Again

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, renowned journalist Bryan Alvarez revealed that the John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar match at WWE Wrestlepalooza this past weekend was their last official match, and they will not wrestle each other again.

“Well, as of this weekend, I am told that this is it. There isn’t gonna be another Brock Lesnar and John Cena match. That was their last match. And Brock is not his final opponent. So… I don’t know what to say now. Why would you do a match like that unless Cena is going to climb that mountain afterwards? Apparently, that was not the plan—they just killed him.”

Cena is inching closer to his retirement date with each passing week. Following his match at Wrestlepalooza, Cena has only five dates left on his farewell tour. He is set to be at Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, on October 11, 2025. Then he’ll grace the Boston and New York crowd for Monday Night RAW on November 10, 2025, and November 17, 2025, respectively.

Cena’s next stop will be Survivor Series: Wargames in San Diego on November 29, 2025, and then he’ll step inside the ring for one last time on December 13, 2025, for Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, DC, which will be his retirement match.
