Jim Cornette Slams Bray Wyatt’s WWE Return

Bray Wyatt

When Bray Wyatt made his WWE return at Extreme Rules on Saturday, fans were ecstatic, greeting Wyatt to a thunderous pop. However, not everyone was happy with Wyatt’s comeback, and this includes former WWE personality Jim Cornette.

After weeks of the “White Rabbit” mystery, Bray Wyatt made his return to WWE at their Premium Live Event on Saturday after being released by the company over a year ago.

Speaking on his “Jim Cornette Experience” podcast, Cornette felt that Bray Wyatt’s gimmick may not have a spot in professional wrestling. He acknowledged that the former WWE Champion’s character would be good in a scary movie, but disagreed with the logic that it should be in pro wrestling.

“The people love him [but] I don’t know what this has to do with wrestling.”

Cornette said that he wasn’t a fan of Wyatt, and continued with his criticism towards him:

“I guess Philadelphia again would be the place where anybody would want to see anything loony in wrestling. But, maybe there’s a good horror movie in this gimmick, I don’t know, but I just I don’t see what the fu*k. When you’ve got the babyfaces in this equation – and I guess now he is a babyface – because people love him.

But when you’ve got a supernatural guy with living puppets that invade the babyfaces’ fu*king spaces and they’ve got to act like that they are legitimately concerned about the animal puppets and the, you know, Presto the Magic Clown fu*king kids show set.”

This isn’t the first time that Cornette has criticized Wyatt, even saying at one point that he wishes that the former WWE Universal Champion would just retire from professional wrestling.
