Jade Cargill Could Be Done With AEW “As Soon As This Week”
It seems Jade Cargill could be gone from AEW sooner than anyone expected.
Fightful Select first reported that Jade Cargill is likely to finish up with AEW not long after returning to TV for the company on Collision where she first helped and then attacked the woman who defeated her for the TBS Championship, Kris Statlander.
A match between the two was booked for Rampage to air on the 15th of September – the bout was filmed on the 13th of September – which was sooner than many anticipated. That is down to the fact that Cargill is due to finish up with the company and sources within AEW believe she is headed to WWE.
The report cannot confirm how long Jade Cargill has left on her AEW contract with the belief that there were option years in play but it is unknown which party held those options. However, a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider suggests Cargill could be done with AEW as soon as this week according to sources in the company.
Jade Cargill “teary-eyed” after AEW Rampage match
The Rampage match with Statlander could be her last appearance in AEW as Johnson notes she is not slated for any more appearances at this time. Discussions have seemingly been held about her remaining All Elite but no agreement has been reached.
Cargill was described by one fan at the Cincinnati show as “teary-eyed” following her match with Kris Statlander that saw the two women embrace following the bout. Jade Cargill then left the ring accompanied by her manager, Mark Sterling. Some in AEW believe that Cargill is WWE-bound and will be part of the NXT roster – which could set up a tantalising bout with new NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch somewhere down the line.
