Jacob Fatu’s Attacker May Not Be Who WWE Fans Think

Jacob Fatu WWE

Jacob Fatu endured a brutal beatdown backstage on last week’s SmackDown.

During an earlier segment between him and Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, who Fatu was scheduled to face in the main event, was seen loitering at a distance.

Then, the attack occurred off-screen, leaving fans to believe that The Scottish Warrior brutalized The Samoan Werewolf, despite McIntyre claiming that he did not do it.

Due to the incident, the original match between Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre for the #1 Contender’s match for the Undisputed WWE Championship was canceled, and instead, Rhodes challenged McIntyre in an impromptu championship match.

The bout ended in a disqualification after Rhodes hit McIntyre with the belt.

Sam Roberts of NotSam Wrestling believes that the writers are pursuing a whodunnit approach to keep the audience engaged. He also claims that someone other than McIntyre may have carried out the attack, revealing a shocking faction.

So, as we’re looking at it, we didn’t see The Vision on SmackDown, obviously, but that’s not to say they weren’t there at all. They’ve been on SmackDown before. Is it possible that it was Bron Breakker or Bronson Reed? I think Jacob Fatu having a story with Bron Breakker or Bronson Reed could be incredibly compelling.

Now, the “why,” it really depends, right? Because, as you’re shaping up to WarGames, maybe the idea becomes, well, some heel team is trying to take out babyfaces that would have been very valuable at WarGames. Maybe The Vision thought that Fatu was rising through the ranks too quickly, and he wasn’t part of their vision of the future. [24:52 onwards]

Jacob Fatu Might Return Before Survivor Series

The attack on Jacob Fatu was owing to his real-life dental surgery and related health problems to write him off.

While fans of The Samoan Werewolf have begun speculating about a return date for him, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer claimed that he could return before Survivor Series: WarGames.

Meanwhile, a legitimate injury was confirmed on WWE RAW, after Adam Pearce announced that Seth Rollins had been stripped of his World Heavyweight Championship.

The Visionary had hurt his shoulder during his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel.
