Injured Top WWE Superstar Set For August Return
The timeline for an injured WWE veteran’s return to the ring has been revealed.
Rey Mysterio has been absent from the roster since April 18, leaving fans to speculate on the reasons.
While it has been known that the former champion had suffered some injury, its seriousness was not revealed until now.
According to reports, Mysterio suffered an abductor muscle tear and a busted eardrum.
At the time, the WWE Hall of Famer was well on the road to make another WrestleMania appearance. However, the injuries led to him being pulled from his scheduled match for good.
Mysterio’s last in-ring appearance was on the April 18 edition of SmackDown, where he competed in a six-man tag team match alongside Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix to take on American Made.
He was recently seen during the AAA Worlds Collide event promoted by WWE. Rey Mysterio spoke about his wrestling debut with the Lucha Libre promotion in 1992 and paid homage to it.
Despite the setback, the veteran quietly worked through to achieve full health.
Rey Mysterio Could Return To WWE In August
WWE has yet to make an official announcement about Rey Mysterio’s return.
However, while appearing on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, former wrestler Konnan provided fans with crucial details, offering a timeline of when they can expect to see Mysterio.
Yeah, he will be in future shows. Great working with him and Dom, and I can’t wait to see who else I’m going to get to work with.
He also provided an update on Mysterio’s potential return timeline, saying he won’t return until August.
In his last appearance, the former WWE Champion was in the Latino World Order. Whether he returns as part of the faction or as a singles competitor remains to be seen.
