A WWE star was pulled out from their title match in the last minute at NXT No Mercy.

Lainey Reid was scheduled to face Sol Ruca for the Women’s Speed Championship after beating Candice LeRae in the #1 Contender’s Match on NXT on Tuesday.

However, before the show Shawn Michaels posted a video on his social media account informing fans that Reid had suffered an injury during training and was not medically cleared to compete.

Kelly Kincaid spoke to the WWE star, who explained that she was unhappy about missing her title match, but clarified that she had her eyes set on the Speed title still.

It sucks. Tonight was supposed to be the most important match of my career. It also was supposed to be the night that I became the new Speed Champion. But yesterday during training, I was injured. Medical evaluated me this afternoon and they ruled me out.

And honestly, Kelly, I am disappointed, but I’m really pissed off, and I promise you the moment that I’m cleared, that Speed title is mine.

Jaida Parker Replaces Lainey Reid At WWE Event

Despite learning that her opponent was injured and unable to compete, Sol Ruca was adamant about facing someone at No Mercy.

It was later revealed that Jaida Parker would be her opponent. The time limit for the match was 5 minutes, as opposed to 3 minutes, which is the condition for non-title bouts.

The match was highly competitive and went the distance. It also witnessed an interference from Lash Legend, before Sol Ruca hit the Sol Snatcher on Parker for the pin with 12 seconds left on the clock.

On the next episode of NXT, Lash Legend will face Jaida Parker in a singles match.
