Goldberg Says WWE “Owe Him” A Retirement Match
WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is holding out for one more match and says WWE “owes” him that but he might look elsewhere if an offer isn’t coming.
Goldberg was last seen in a WWE ring back in February 2022 when he took on Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia. In October, he revealed that his contract with WWE would be up at the end of that year and it doesn’t look like he ever signed an extension.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, the former WCW World Champion says that he’s prepared to get in the ring again and wants to have one last match, with or without WWE:
“You never say never, especially in wrestling, and they owe me one. That’s all I can say. I made a deal with the devil and I did my job, and they owe me a retirement match. At the end of the day, at 56, it’s not something where I’m sitting by the phone waiting for a call. I’ve got a few ideas of how to do it on my own, possibly in Israel. So never say never.”
Goldberg recently made headlines for his take on Rihanna’s halftime performance at the Super Bowl and it’s safe to say he was not a fan.
