Former World Champion Confirms Signing With AEW

An ex-CMLL world champion has confirmed their official signing with AEW.

Hechicero is a one-time CMLL World Heavyweight Champion, who also appears on Ring of Honor (ROH) and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) from time to time.

The Mexican luchador has previously appeared in All Elite Wrestling, but not as a contracted wrestler.

During his recent appearance on Fox Sports Mexico’s All Elite show, Hechicero shared the details about the landmark deal, which will allow him to continue wrestling in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre while being on the AEW roster.

AEW Star Suffers Injury Setback After Recent Return

While the addition of Hechicero to AEW’s roster is a cause for celebration, Wardlow has his reasons to not be in a celebratory mood.

Mr. Mayhem had returned to the Florida promotion during the Forbidden Door pay-per-view after a 17-month injury layoff.

As per recent reports, he could miss another 6 to 8 months due to him suffering a torn pectoral muscle at the same event.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reacted to the report from Fightful Select, stating injuries like this lead to at least six months of away time.

His co-host Bryan Alvarez provided further details, saying:

I heard the same thing that they don’t know the severity of it. If he’s gonna need surgery, it’s gonna be a long time. It’s one injury after another; it’s been a real, real tough road for him.

In other news, another AEW star has confirmed their availability after being away for 10 months.
