Ex-WWE Broadcaster Lands Role With New Company
A former WWE broadcaster will be staying in the wrestling business after they landed a role with a new company looking to make waves.
On August 9th it was announced that former TNA President Scott D’Amore would be relaunching the famous Canadian promotion, Maple Leaf Wrestling. The grand old promotion can trace its roots back to the 1930s, before rising to prominence under the guidance of Frank Tunney. When Frank died in 1983, his nephew Jack took control of the promotion before it was absorbed by WWE in 1984.
The venture marks D’Amore’s first steps back into pro wrestling since being fired by TNA back in February 2024. As the relaunch nears, more details on the company’s presentation have been confirmed.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, D’Amore revealed that former WWE announcer Mauro Ranallo will be the promotion’s lead announcer. It has since been confirmed that Ranallo will form a Canadian dream team at the commentary desk alongside a current AEW star. And now it seems there’s also room for a former WWE talent.
