Edge Removed From WWE SmackDown Intro
The latest sign Edge is done with WWE was seen on SmackDown.
Edge had what is believed to be his last match in WWE on the 18th of August edition of SmackDown in his hometown of Toronto where he defeated Sheamus. Since then rumours on the WWE Hall of Famer’s future have run wild with reports that the star had been removed from the company’s internal rosters before it transpired that he had just been moved to another list.
However, it has since been confirmed that the star’s contract with WWE expires on the 30th of September although Edge himself previously noted that he had an extension offer sitting in his inbox but hadn’t made up his mind on what to do next.
Speculation has mounted that he could be on his way to AEW and if his contract expiry date is correct it would leave him free and clear to appear at WrestleDream on October 1st if he wished.
Edge not seen on WWE SmackDown
On the 29th of September edition of SmackDown, eagle-eyed viewers noticed the most conclusive sign that The Rated-R Superstar’s future lies outside of WWE as he has been removed from the opening of the show.
WWE introduced a new intro to the blue brand on the 8th of September and in that video Edge making his entrance could be seen but the tweaked intro has seen that footage removed.
