Did John Cena & Logan Paul Go Off-Script During Explosive SmackDown Promo?
Did John Cena take Logan Paul by surprise during his promo in Dublin, Ireland?
This is something two former WWE stars discussed on the Busted Open Podcast recently, all the while praising Cena’s mic skills and his wit about testing other wrestlers.
WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley and Baron Corbin, real name Bishop Dyer, discussed the Cena-Paul face-off segment from the August 22 taping of SmackDown.
During the segment, John Cena accused his Clash in Paris opponent of using the wrestlers to further his brand, labeling him a parasite.
As the promo progressed, Paul grew agitated, ultimately attempting to attack Cena. However, the 17-time champion ducked and hit the YouTube sensation with an Attitude Adjustment.
Dyer wondered whether the segment was a work or a shoot.
Maybe John didn’t tell him anything. In my brain, John didn’t tell him anything. “When you’re done, I’ll start talking, and then I’ll put the button on it and we’re out.” And he wants Logan’s real reactions in the moment. But it was a test, too. It was a test to see if he could hang. It was a test to see what Logan was going to bring to the table promo-wise. I mean did it to (Austin) Theory. If you’re not gonna bring your original content and your A-game, he’s gonna murder you. (4:13 onwards)
Dominik Mysterio Dares John Cena To Challenge Him For The Intercontinental Championship
Dominic Mysterio is currently not scheduled for a Clash in Paris match. Nevertheless, his rivalry with AJ Styles has continued since their match at SummerSlam.
The 28-year-old appeared for an interview on the Rap On Wrestling podcast, wherein he claimed to be ready for a challenge from John Cena.
I mean, he can try, and what’s that thing he says? If you want some, come get some. You know what? John, you know where I’m at. If you want to come finish your Grand Slam quest, these little side quests you’re on, I’m here all day. Every Monday, you know where I’ll be.
Meanwhile, John Cena will headline a new WWE premium live event in September. Read about the breakout news here.
