CM Punk has responded to a fan that had a critical about him by saying that he’ll wrestle again just to upset that fan!

There have been a lot of questions about the wrestling future of former two-time AEW World Champion CM Punk. At AEW All Out in September 2022 in his hometown of Chicago, Punk won the AEW World Title for the second time. However, that title win is not what fans remember most from that night.

As most wrestling fans likely know, CM Punk went on a post-show press conference rant about his former friend Colt Cabana, “Hangman” Adam Page doing a promo several months earlier and he was critical of The Elite.

After his press conference ranting with AEW’s Owner/President/GM Tony Khan beside him, Punk was involved in a backstage fight at All Out with The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks). Punk was suspended for an undetermined amount of time while his friend and former AEW agent Ace Steel was fired for his actions in the fight since he threw a chair at Nick Jackson and bit Omega in the arm. The Elite were also suspended for nearly two months as well. While The Elite have returned triumphantly, Punk’s future in AEW is in doubt.

While CM Punk remains under AEW contract, Punk also suffered a torn triceps injury at All Out that required surgery. Even if he wasn’t involved in the AEW All Out fight, he would have been out of action for about six to eight months. Punk is likely going to be cleared to wrestle soon, but whether he returns to AEW is not a sure thing at this point.

Earlier today, we ran a story featuring quotes from AEW’s Mark Henry about how he thinks the company should bring back CM Punk.

“If I was in charge, I would bring him back and I would bring him back with him saying to the wrestling world, not an apology, but just state the facts. ‘Grown men will disagree and things will be said that probably shouldn’t have been said and I regret airing my dirty laundry in front of the world. It won’t happen again. Do we agree on everything? No. Can we work together and exist and have a business relationship? Yes. I will not let my personal feelings, my personal gripes, and concerns interfere with business again, because ultimately, the important thing is business and I am the business and business is good. AEW is better with me around.’”

On Instagram, the prowrestlingpodcast shared the graphic of Mark’s comments. A fan wrote: “Keep CM Punk retired.”

That led to CM Punk writing this in response:

“You liked your own comment. Bold. I’ll wrestle again just to upset you. You’ll match no matter where.”

What this means is that CM Punk certainly could wrestle again some day whether it’s in AEW (where he remains under contract) or somewhere else. It also means that CM Punk clearly reads the comments as the wrestling fan certainly found out.
