CM Punk To Impact WWE Raw TV Rights Negotiations

CM Punk

CM Punk could provide a massive boost for WWE Raw.

WWE’s current TV rights deal with NBC Universal is set to expire in October 2024, and the sports entertainment giant is hoping for a monster new contract — no matter who that deal is with.

After the company secured new deals for SmackDown and NXT, all attention has now turned to the red brand. In fact, Triple H recently missed Raw to join Nick Khan at the negotiating table in Los Angeles.

Interestingly, it’s now been reported that the signing of CM Punk could have an impact on negotiations. Writing on social media, Dave Meltzer noted that Punk is a “huge selling point” for the company and things have changed significantly in recent weeks.

“Things are changing greatly. Let’s just say things changed greatly with Raw negotiations from a few weeks ago. And Punk is a huge part of the selling point.”

CM Punk’s WWE In-Ring Return Confirmed

CM Punk walked back onto WWE screens at Survivor Series, completing a return that for many years appeared impossible. Since that night, Punk has appeared on Raw, SmackDown, and NXT Deadline, but the star has now announced that he’ll be on the red brand going forward.

Following his decision on December 11th, CM Punk was confronted by Seth Rollins, and the World Heavyweight Champion made sure Punk was left in no doubt about how he felt about him.

It’s now been announced that CM Punk will return to the ring to face Dominik Mysterio on December 30th. The match will be Punk’s first in WWE since January 2014.
