Charlotte Flair Playing Key Role In Changing WWE History
Charlotte Flair is continuing to change the game.
Over the course of her career, Charlotte Flair has seen and done it all. In fact, she currently stands as the most decorated woman in WWE history, but that doesn’t mean she’s ready to walk away.
Four months shy of her 40th birthday, Flair is showing that age shouldn’t be a barrier to a woman in the wrestling industry as she continues to perform at the highest level.
During an interview on the Trading Secrets podcast, Flair dismissed the idea that her prime years are behind her, pointing out that women haven’t been able to have the level of longevity she’s currently enjoying.
“I’m 39, I feel like I’m having some of the best character work in my career, great matches. Who’s to say? I just think that the women that I came up with because there has been so much, so much evolution within the women’s division, it’s kind of new territory,” Flair said. “And I’m honored to be a part of that new territory for women going into their 40s. It’s just new territory.”
Charlotte Flair To Turn To Wicked Ways
Continuing on, Flair commented on her on-screen partnership with Alexa Bliss. While praising Bliss for “softening” her character, she looked ahead to how things might look when she returns to her more traditional heel persona.
“I hope just all of this opportunity with her and wherever that story goes, when I do get to go back to being like the solo evil queen, that it just means that much more because I had the opportunity to do this,”
Speaking elsewhere, Charlotte Flair revealed that she’s still working to fully recover from the knee injury that kept her out of the ring for the entirety of 2024. She explained that she’s working towards being able to wrestle without a knee brace — something that’s been a staple since she returned at the Royal Rumble.
