Bryan Danielson Makes Shock Return On AEW Collision

Bryan Danielson with hands on hips

Bryan Danielson is back in AEW and he’ll be competing at All Out.

Ricky Starks should have been careful what he wished for on Collision after calling out WWE Hall of Famer Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat for a Strap Match at All Out. Starks had been suspended by AEW after attacking Steamboat who was a guest enforcer for his match with CM Punk.

Steamboat came to the ring and pointed out the contract he had Ricky Starks signed read “Ricky Starks vs. The Dragon” in a no disqualification Strap Match at All Out before he ran down some of the different ways wrestling fans know him. Then he introduced someone wrestling fans also known as The Dragon – The American Dragon Bryan Danielson.

Danielson entered the ring to a rapturous reception and signed the contract without a word putting him in his first match since suffering a broken arm against Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door in June.

Bryan Danielson comes to AEW’s rescue

It has been a mixed week for AEW off of the All In show at Wembley Stadium which proved to be a massive success. However, that show also proved to be the end of the line for CM Punk in the company after a backstage altercation with Jack Perry.

Tony Khan and AEW announced that Punk had been fired effective immediately following an investigation into the incident. Khan told fans ahead of Collision in Chicago that he had feared for his life during the incident with Dave Meltzer since suggesting there was even more to reports that Punk had “lunged” at Khan following the Perry incident.
