CM Punk Involved In Backstage Incident With Jack Perry At AEW All In

The self-proclaimed “Real World Champion” of AEW, CM Punk, was involved in a backstage incident at All In with Jack Perry.

Here we go again. At AEW All In London, Jack Perry and CM Punk wrestled in back to back matches. Perry lost the “coveted” FTW Championship to Hook during the last match on the Zero Hour Pre-Show while CM Punk beat Samoa Joe in the opening match to retain the Real AEW World Championship.

It was a story originally reported by Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp. During Perry’s match with Hook, Jack did a spot on a car window, and said “it’s real glass, cry me a river.” It was a reference to CM Punk offering advice to Perry at AEW Collision in the past when Perry wanted to use real glass for a spot and Punk suggested something safer. Fightful reported that “Perry wasn’t happy with how the situation was relayed publicly by those close to Punk.”

At All In, Perry got in Punk’s face in the backstage area before Punk was about to head to the ring for his match. One version of the story has Perry approaching Punk and starting the incident while others believe Punk was the instigator.

Another report on the story comes from PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, who wrote that “Punk either punched and/or choked out Perry after the shoving.”

It was also noted by PWInsider that Perry was asked to leave the venue after the incident, which might suggest that AEW officials feel he started it.

Miro Says One Version Of the CM Punk-Jack Perry Story is Untrue

One AEW wrestler who was at the event was Miro, who quote tweeted a tweet covering the report and said: “That’s fake and untrue.”

On Twitter, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful summarized it this way.

“CM Punk’s side: Jack Perry approached him, got in his face, bumped him. Punk shoved him, and choked him.

Other accounts: Punk approached Perry, they exchanged words, Punk threw the first punch, grabbed a front face lock, and it was broken up.”

There will likely be more on this story in the days ahead.
