Britt Baker Makes Huge AEW Return
It was a case of the doctor will see you now at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door as Britt Baker DMD made her huge return in New York City.
Britt Baker hasn’t wrestled since being beaten by Kris Statlander back in mid-September 2023. While there’s been little comment from the woman herself, others have confirmed the star has been dealing with an undisclosed injury.
There has been much discussion about the former AEW Women’s Champion’s absence from the company and at the pre-Forbidden Door media call, Tony Khan stated how excited he was for Baker to return:
I’m really excited about Britt Baker being close to ready for a return to AEW. She’s been out with an injury and was not cleared to wrestle. I do expect that sometime soon she could return. I would absolutely love that. I’m very excited about getting all of our top stars back. It’s been great having MJF back. So many top stars had been away.
It’s going to feel amazing when we have great stars, Britt Baker is a great example, it will be great to have the Doctor back in AEW. So many other great former champions, including Jamie Hayter, Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, and many other great wrestlers we can’t wait to have back here in AEW.
For me, I know that Dr. Britt Baker and fans all over the world will be excited to see her return. I’m glad she’s going to be cleared to return very soon.
And it turned out the waiting for fans was over.
Britt Baker Finally Returns To AEW
At Forbidden Door in New York City, a huge show saw Mercedes Mone leave with two championships as she defeated Stephanie Vaquer to retain the TBS Title and win Vaquer’s NJPW STRONG Women’s Title.
After that victory, her celebrations were cut short by Dr. Britt Baker DMD who entered to a huge ovation as she stared down Mone before leaving hinting that a big match between the two stars could be on the horizon.
