Top AEW Star Confirms Contract Length, Lays Out Retirement Plans
One AEW star will be staying with the company for several more years.
At Dynamite Winter Is Coming, Eddie Kingston will wrestle his biggest match since returning from major leg and knee surgery at All Out.
On the show, Kingston will challenge Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship. In the lead-up to the match, Joe has taunted Kingston, claiming he always falls down at the final hurdle, but The Mad King remains as defiant as ever.
Eddie Kingston Confirms AEW Contract Details
During a new interview with Gabby LaSpisa on Gabby AF, Kingston looked ahead to his match with Joe, and then onwards to the end of his career. The star said that he’s got six years left on his AEW deal, and when that expires, he’s going to disappear to Alaska.
“I’m not supposed to win. I don’t give a f*ck. He’s not going to kill me. I’m going to wake up the next day and move forward. Guess what, I have six years left on my contract, and I want to make my money, and then buy a place in Alaska and get the f*ck away from society. Get me the f*ck to Alaska. As long as I can watch the Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and Rangers. I’m good. Leave me alone.”
Elsewhere on Dynamite, “Hangman” Adam Page will team with Swerve Strickland to face Katsuyori Shibata & Powerhouse Hobbs. The Continental Classic will also continue with Jack Perry’s first match since he replaced the injured Darby Allin. In the Gold League, Perry will square off against Kazuchika Okada.
