AEW Star In Awe Of Will Ospreay’s Matches

Will Ospreay in AEW

An AEW wrestler admits he is in “awe of everything” that Will Ospreay does in a wrestling ring.

Ever since he became a full-time AEW wrestler earlier in 2024, Will Ospreay has already had an impressive collection of incredible matches. The 31-year-old was voted as the Wrestling Observer’s Male Wrestler of the Year in 2023.

The talented Brit was known for his incredible matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling over the last decade, so his performances in AEW have lived up to the high expectations that fans had for him.

Kyle Fletcher knows Ospreay well since they are close friends who were part of the United Empire stable along with Fletcher’s tag team partner Mark Davis. Fletcher and Ospreay are a part of the Don Callis Family in AEW although Ospreay isn’t known for hanging around the group that often.

In an interview with Good Karma Wrestling, Fletcher spoke about Ospreay’s ability to visualize things in the ring and pull it off easily.

“I say it all the time. He’s one of those people that can just do things and I don’t think he even knows how it happens. Like, he will just be standing there, and he’ll be like, ‘Yeah, I’m going to do this, this, this and that’ll do this, this, this and then I’ll do this, this, this” and then it’s just perfect.”

“If I got him to break down his thought process, I don’t think he would physically be able to do it because it just comes to him naturally like it’s second nature to him. I am in awe of watching everything he does. It’s ridiculous.”

Will Ospreay Headlining AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door

The next AEW pay-per-view is the AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door event taking place this Sunday, June 30th in Long Island, New York. The main event of the show will see AEW’s International Champion Will Ospreay challenging the AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland for Swerve’s title. It is Ospreay’s first attempt at winning the AEW World Championship.

As he continues to acclimate himself in AEW, Ospreay has also admitted that he is getting more comfortable when it comes to delivering meaningful promos to advance storylines and build up his matches.
