AEW Star Names Adam Copeland As One Of His Wrestling Parents

Adam Copeland

A prominent AEW wrestler has opened up about his close, personal relationship with former TNT Champion Adam Copeland.

It was one year ago at the first ever AEW WrestleDream PPV when Adam Copeland made his first-ever appearance for All Elite Wrestling. After 25 years of being known as WWE Hall of Famer Edge, Copeland was in AEW to try new things and face new opponents.

Since joining AEW, Copeland had two reigns as the TNT Champion while also having a lengthy rivalry with his best friend Christian Cage.

Unfortunately for Copeland, he has been out of action since May’s Double or Nothing PPV due to a broken leg after jumping off the top of a steel cage. It may be in 2025 when Copeland will be able to wrestle again.

Adam Copeland Helped Cash Wheeler In His Early Days As A Wrestler

Two of the AEW wrestlers who are close with Copeland are the FTR tag team of Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler. Just like Copeland and his family with Beth Phoenix, the FTR guys live in the North Carolina area. While speaking to Renee Paquette on AEW Close Up, Wheeler spoke about how close he is with Copeland and Phoenix.

“Adam and Beth have been my wrestling parents for 12, 13 years now. I met Adam when he first moved to Asheville, [North Carolina] in 2009 actually. We became friends over time. He was still world champion, all these things, and he took the time to give me advice without me even having to ask him. He just wanted to help.”

“Before I ever had anything to offer those people, they went out of their way to make sure I was learning and had stuff. They took care of me. That’s just what they do. Then eventually him and Beth got together. I was there for the beginning of their relationship, so cute. Adam was like ‘I think Beth likes me.'”

Adam Copeland started dating Beth Phoenix in 2011 and they got married in 2016. They have two daughters together.
