Adam Cole Comments On Past Interactions With CM Punk

CM Punk

Adam Cole has shared some of his firsthand experiences interacting with CM Punk in AEW.

CM Punk has been making headlines in the wrestling world of late mostly for reasons not related to any actual wrestling he has done.

Many of the headlines he has generated have focused on him cutting impromptu promos on people, having issues with people backstage at AEW Collision, and his continued friction with The Elite.

These reports don’t pain the entire picture, which is why some people have come to Punk’s defense in the wake of growing fan criticism and increasingly vocal disapproval towards him at live events.

Given that the most common targets of Punk’s alleged animosity and stinging promos have been members of the Elite – Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page, and the Young Bucks – it’s interesting that one person who had nothing but positive interactions with him is Adam Cole, who has his own long history with the Elite as well.

Adam Page and CM Punk don’t appear to have any issues with each other despite Cole’s closeness to The Elite

Speaking on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated podcast, Cole noted that he hasn’t had a cross word with CM Punk whatsoever and that he’s happy to have Punk in AEW.

“I’ve had a few interactions with him, and he has always been nothing but kind to me. Obviously, when he first came to AEW, it was a big deal for us and brought a lot of eyes and attention on the company. AEW has been on this crazy uphill swing for the past few years since I’ve arrived and that’s pretty cool.”

Both CM Punk and Adam Cole will be extremely busy on Sunday as both of them will have prominent matches at AEW All In. Punk will be defending his “Real” World Championship against Samoa Joe while Cole will be challenging MJF for the “Triple B” world title.
