2 Raw Stars Make WWE King & Queen Of The Ring Finals

Gunther Jey Uso WWE

The King & Queen of the Ring event takes place on May 25th in Saudi Arabia and two WWE Raw stars are now one step away from claiming the crowns.

Record-smashing former Intercontinental Champion Gunther booked his place in Raw’s semi-final for the King of the Ring by defeating ex-WWE Champions Sheamus and Kofi Kingston. Jey Uso, on the other hand, was a late addition to the tournament after Drew McIntyre was pulled out of the King of the Ring due to injury.

Uso booked his place against Gunther by defeating two former NXT Champions in Finn Balor and Ilja Dragunov. On Raw in Greensboro, Jey Uso and Gunther clashed for a place in the King of the Ring final with The Ring General coming out on top as he submitted Uso.

WWE Queen Of The Ring Finalist Decided

In the Queen of the Ring tournament, former WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY met former NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria in the Raw semi-final. Valkyria had defeated Dakota Kai and Zoey Stark to reach this stage while SKY had seen off Natalya and Shayna Baszler. Valkyria surprised SKY by reversing a sunset flip to pick up the win on Raw and move into the final.

Lyra Valkyria will now face either Nia Jax or Bianca Belair in Saudi Arabia while Gunther will take on either Tama Tonga or Randy Orton. Those final semi-final matches will take place on the 24th of May edition of SmackDown.
