TJR: WrestleMania’s Greatest Matches (#33 to 1) by John Canton

What is the greatest match in WWE WrestleMania history? It’s a question that a lot of wrestling fans ask, debate and wonder. As a guy that’s written about WWE for many years, I have been asked that kind of question many times. Since I reviewed every WrestleMania ever in 2012 (find the full listing here), I wanted to put together a comprehensive list of WrestleMania’s best matches. In each case, I wrote about the build-up to the matches, the play-by-play of the matches, and my extended thoughts on what made it great. I also grabbed some quotes from the participants in some cases.

The original list was written in 2017 with 33 matches because it was WrestleMania 33 that year. In 2020, I added a WrestleMania 35 (2019) match to the series with a review of Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan, which you can read here.
