WWE Target Could Be Available In Two Months
Another WWE target will soon be a free agent.
On the April 12th episode of SmackDown, Tama Tonga made his WWE debut, attacking Jimmy Uso and seemingly aligning with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa. There had been on-and-off talks between Tonga and WWE for several years, but a deal was finally put together after the former NJPW star became a free agent in February.
As well as speaking with Tonga in 2023, the sports entertainment giant was also in contact with Hikuleo. While the star is currently under contract with NJPW and teaming with El Phantasmo, he might not be for much longer.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Hikuleo’s contract runs into June, but there’s no word on whether a new deal has been agreed.
Hikuleo was most recently in action at NJPW Windy City Riot where he and El Phantasmo lost the New Japan Pro Wrestling NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Titles in a Four Corners match to TMDK.
WWE Lands Multiple Free Agents
As well as securing the services of Tama Tonga, it’s believed Jacob Fatu has also signed with WWE. Fatu reportedly told those close to him ahead of WrestleMania that a deal was done, while Dave Meltzer has since noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he’s signed with the company.
The report comes after it was revealed that Giulia has signed with WWE. The former STARDOM talent was introduced to the crowd at Stand & Deliver over WrestleMania weekend.
Meanwhile, AEW star HOOK could be about to follow suit after it was revealed that he’s keen to explore free agency when his contract expires later in 2024.
