WWE Tag Team Set For First Match In Almost 4 Years

WWE Logo over Roster

After almost four years, it’s time for Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa to do it themselves once again.

On the October 2nd edition of Monday Night Raw, Johnny Gargano made his long-awaited return to WWE television after several months of absence. However, Gargano had an even more long-awaited reunion in mind when he turned up as he saved his former tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa from a beatdown at the hands of Imperium.

On Raw in Dallas, Texas, Johnny Gargano took on Giovanni Vinci in a one-on-one match with Vinci under strict orders to take care of Gargano from Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER. Ludwig Kaiser was at ringside to help enact these orders but Tommaso Ciampa helped his old friend overcome the odds to pick up the win.

DIY returning to a WWE ring

WWE has now confirmed that Gargano and Ciampa will reform their DIY tag team to take on Vinci and Kaiser in a tag team bout on the 30th of October edition of Raw.

The last time Ciampa and Gargano were on the same side in a bout was back in December 2021 as part of the WarGames match that saw NXT 2.0 finish off the black and gold era once and for all. Gargano actually left WWE following the end of his contract after that bout only to be brought back in September 2022 when Triple H was in full control of the company.

However, the last time DIY teamed in a regular tag team match on WWE television came at Worlds Collide in January 2020 when they defeated Moustache Mountain.
