GUNTHER Celebrates New Milestone As WWE Intercontinental Champion

GUNTHER WWE Intercontinental Champion

The longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has celebrated yet another milestone.

On his social media accounts including Instagram, the current WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER posted a photo of himself with the IC Title with three numbers: 500.

GUNTHER won the Intercontinental Championship from Ricochet on the June 10, 2022 episode of Smackdown. It was just over one month before Vince McMahon retired due to paying off women to hide his secret relationships with them. Triple H took over the creative reigns in late July 2022 and GUNTHER has remained the Intercontinental Champion.

On the September 4th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, GUNTHER beat Chad Gable in an incredible match. Four days later, he passed the Honky Tonk Man’s record reign of 454 days as the Intercontinental Champion.

That number is now 500 days for GUNTHER as the Intercontinental Champion as the Imperium leader looks to continue his dominant reign as champion, the likes of which we have never seen before with the Intercontinental Title.

GUNTHER has taken on all comers as the Intercontinental Champion

Over the last several months, GUNTHER has had incredible matches with different members of the Raw roster including the aforementioned Chad Gable multiple times, Tommaso Ciampa and Bronson Reed last week.

While GUNTHER has had several memorable title defenses on Raw of late, he has been left off the last two WWE Premium Live Events. He also likely isn’t going to be part of Crown Jewel since he’ll be wrestling at a WWE live event in Rochester on November 4th.

Earlier this year, GUNTHER had an all-time great match at WrestleMania 39 as he defeated Sheamus & Drew McIntyre.

GUNTHER’s Imperium group also includes Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. That trio is a big part of the Raw brand.
