Massive WWE Star Drops Major Retirement Hint At 47
After John Cena and AJ Styles, CM Punk could be the next to retire in WWE.
The Second City Saint was absent from WWE for nearly a decade, primarily due to frustration with creative decisions and the backstage environment. He returned home at Survivor Series 2023. Since then, he has been working diligently to make up for lost time, consistently excelling as a top performer and a valued personality within the company.
The 47-year-old WWE star’s return has been a mix of high-profile opportunities and some setbacks; he briefly held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which was cut short by Seth Rollins. That said, he was a part of WWE’s recent Japan tour, wrestling in a two-night event at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.
WWE Star CM Punk Might Retire Soon
On the first night, he challenged Dominik Mysterio for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and on the second night, he teamed with Shinsuke Nakamura in a tag team match against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed of The Vision faction.
This Japan run was very meaningful to Punk as he returned to the place after 14 long years. In a recent WWE vlog, he stated that this might be his last time performing in Tokyo, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Japanese fans and his colleagues.
“Last one in Tokyo, maybe ever, I don’t know. I don’t know what’s gonna happen, but grateful for all the Japanese fans, and I’m grateful for all the boys and girls I work with,” he said before going out for his match on the second night.
The Best in the World is the number one contender for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship, which Seth Rollins had to relinquish due to an injury. Jey Uso also won another number one spot to challenge for the title last week on RAW after winning the battle royal.
The two contenders will face each other on Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November for the title.
