WWE Star Forced To Vacate Championship

Just days after Liv Morgan was pulled from a big tag team match on Raw, she and Raquel Rodriguez have been forced to vacate the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship due to injury.

Morgan and Rodriguez had defeated Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY and Dakota Kai on the 12th of May edition of SmackDown where the former SmackDown Women’s Champion apparently picked up the injury. Instead of the tag team title match then happening on Raw, Rodriguez was in singles action where she defeated Chelsea Green.

After the match, Rodriguez was attacked by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler who signaled their intention to challenge for the gold but now that challenge has come quicker than most expected after an announcement on SmackDown.

Michael Cole revealed that due to Liv Morgan’s injury, she and Rodriguez have been stripped of their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with a big fatal four-way match set for Raw on May 29th to crown new champions.

That match will see Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, Bayley & IYO SKY, and Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville fight it out for the gold alongside Raquel Rodriguez who is looking for a new partner to join her to claim the championship that she never lost.

This is the second time since the belts were introduced that the championship has been vacated, with the first time coming when Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of WWE while still champions.
