WWE Star Arrived Just In Time For SummerSlam Appearance

One WWE star’s SummerSlam appearance came down to the wire.

SummerSlam was WWE’s biggest party of the summer in Detroit and it proved to be a good night for the one WWE star who left Ford Field as a new champion in the company.

Bianca Belair thought that was going to be her when she came out victorious in the triple threat match against Charlotte Flair and Asuka for the WWE Women’s Championship but Damage CTRL had other ideas.

Following Belair’s win, IYO SKY and Bayley rushed to the ring taking out Flair and Asuka on the way before SKY cashed in her Money In The Bank contract. An 8-second match followed with SKY claiming the championship. After the match, she was joined in the ring by Bayley and the injured Dakota Kai as the trio celebrated bringing gold to the group.

However, time was not on Dakota Kai’s side as she noted on her Twitch stream – courtesy of CrispyWrestling on Twitter. Kai noted that she didn’t wake up until 1 am EST on the day of SummerSlam and had a text from Bayley to say that she was needed at SummerSlam.

Her flight did not take off until after 7 pm and she arrived at Ford Field in Detroit while GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Title defence with Drew McIntyre was underway. Kai noted she was covered in clothing to keep her disguised until it was time for her to celebrate with IYO SKY.

Dakota Kai last competed in a WWE ring on the May 12th edition of SmackDown where she suffered a torn ACL. That injury will keep her out of action for some time and is the same injury more recently suffered by Sonya Deville, throwing the future of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship into doubt.
