The ratings are in for the 18th of August edition of WWE SmackDown.

The 18th of August edition of SmackDown saw Edge celebrate the 25th anniversary of his debut in WWE as he went one-on-one with Sheamus in the night’s main event.

Wrestlenomics has reported that the TV ratings for the show saw an average of 2,094,000 viewers which is slightly down from the 2,097,000 viewers that the previous week’s show averaged. The all-important 18-49 demographic came in at 0.55 which was the same as from the 11th of August.

SmackDown also saw The Street Profits in action as they defeated The OC, celebrating once again with Bobby Lashley after the bout. It was a bad night for Damage CTRL, however, as Bayley and IYO SKY lost to Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair but the group may have got the last laugh as they viciously attacked Belair backstage after the match.

Austin Theory now has a chance to regain the WWE United States Championship after he defeated LA Knight in a number one contender’s match.

Is Edge done with WWE?

All signs have pointed to Edge’s match with Sheamus being the last one of his WWE career. The Rated-R Superstar admitted the bout was the last of his current contract with the company and he told the fans in Toronto after SmackDown went off the air that it was the last time he’d compete in front of them.

Reports have suggested, however, that the WWE Hall of Famer’s contract does not actually expire until September putting imminent rumours of a debut for AEW to bed, at least for now.
