WWE Announces More Royal Rumble Match Participants Including Rey Mysterio

There are more names that have been announced for the Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches including a former Rumble match winner, Rey Mysterio.

The WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event is taking place on Saturday, January 28th at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Since the show is taking place in two weeks, WWE has announced more participants in the Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches.

During an in-ring promo on the January 13th edition of Smackdown, Rey Mysterio announced his participation in the Men’s Royal Rumble match. Rey was interrupted by Karrion Kross, who mocked Rey’s age and injury history while noting that Rey’s Royal Rumble win in 2006 was a long time ago since it’s been 17 years. Kross also took shots at Rey’s fractured relationship with his son Dominik.

Rey went after Kross and set up for the 619 attempt against the ropes, but Karrion’s wife Scarlett tripped Rey. That led to Kross choking out Rey with a Kross Jacket submission. It was later announced that Rey will face Kross on Smackdown in two weeks on January 27th.

GUNTHER was successful in his Intercontinental Title defense against Braun Strowman with a Powerbomb out of the corner. Later in the show, GUNTHER was in the trainer’s room where he declared that he was going to win the Royal Rumble match and go on to the main event of WrestleMania.

As for the Women’s Royal Rumble match, Raquel Rodriguez was in a backstage segment where she declared she will be in the Royal Rumble as well.

Raquel defeated Liv Morgan on Smackdown. Morgan has said she wanted to enter the Rumble match first because she liked the idea of competing against everybody in the match.

* Santos Escobar

* Rey Mysterio

The following Superstars have declared for this year’s 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match:

* Liv Morgan

* Raquel Rodriguez

* Rhea Ripley

* Candice LeRae

There should be many more names announced for the Royal Rumble matches over the next two weeks.

There are also two non-Royal Rumble matches that are official.
