WWE Raw Match Called Off Due To Injury

A WWE Raw match came to an unexpected end.

On the January 1st, Day One episode of Raw, Jey Uso teamed with Kofi Kingston to take on Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. Kingston’s regular partner Xavier Woods is currently missing through injury.

During the match, Vinci went to the top rope before jumping off at Kingston, only to be taken out by a dropkick. However, the dropkick caught Vinci straight in the face, and he fell backward, his head hitting the mat hard.

Much to his credit, the referee quickly recognised the seriousness of the situation and went over to check on Vinci before waving the match off after Kingston tagged in Uso.

After the match, Vinvi was seen being helped to the back but later wrote on social media that he was fine.

The Rock Makes WWE Return On Raw

The biggest story of the show came later in the night as The Rock made his latest return to WWE. In the days leading up to the show it was reported and eventually teased by WWE that a former World Champion would be appearing, and the Great One repeated his trick from September when he appeared on SmackDown, linking up with Pat McAfee on ESPN College Gameday before heading to WWE.

The segment began with Jinder Mahal coming out as the surprise former WWE Champion, but after running down the crowd and the United States he was joined by The Rock. The veteran ran through his usual comedic schtick before laying Mahal out with a People’s Elbow.

Before leaving, Rock said he was hungry and asked fans if he should get some food and sit in a booth, at the bar, or at the head of the table, a direct shot at Roman Reigns. This was the first time either The Rock or Reigns had directly teased a match on WWE television.
