The WWE Women’s World Championship is currently vacant.

Naomi, who was the latest title-holder, was forced to vacate it after she announced her pregnancy on the August 18 episode of RAW.

As a result, her match against Stephanie Vaquer at the Clash in Paris PLE was canceled. Nonetheless, Vaquer was told that she remained the #1 contender for the title.

It was revealed on the September 1 taping of RAW that Vaquer and Iyo Sky will fight it out for the championship at WWE’s upcoming Wrestlepalooza PLE.

During the episode, a backstage segment featuring former Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley was also aired wherein she was asked about her thoughts regarding the upcoming title match.

Honestly, I respect both Iyo and Stephanie, I really do, and I think that they deserve this match. But I’ve never taken my eye off the prize. So, whoever wins, I just want them to know that I’m gonna do whatever it takes to earn a championship shot, Ripley said. [H/T: Ringside News]

Future of WWE Women’s World Championship Revealed

Wrestlepalooza will be WWE’s first premium live event to be streamed on ESPN after a historic five-year deal worth over a billion dollars was signed between the two sports conglomerates.

Billi Bhatti of the Dirty Sheets Wrestling Informer recently revealed the future of the women’s championship during a recent episode of his podcast.

As things stand, the plan is for Rhea Ripley to recapture the vacant championship in her home country of Australia at the WWE Crown Jewel PLE next month. It’s also believed that Rhea Ripley will end her losing streak to IYO SKY en route to reclaiming the Championship.

Crown Jewel is an annual premium live event, which started in 2018 in support of Saudi Vision 2030.

While the event was organized in Saudi Arabia so far, for the first time, it will move outside of the country, taking place in Perth, Australia, on October 11.

Between now and then, Ripley is expected to be involved in a feud with Asuka of The Kabuki Warriors.
