Rhea Ripley Set for Blockbuster Feud With 9-Time WWE Champion

For several months now, Rhea Ripley’s quest for the Women’s World Championship has been nothing short of dramatic, and she wasn’t alone in that chase.

At first, Ripley was locked in a fierce rivalry against IYO SKY. The two of them pushed each other to the absolute limit. The feud reached its boiling point at SummerSlam, where Ripley and Sky clashed with Naomi in a triple-threat championship showdown. Even though Ripley and SKY didn’t win the title, that match turned out to be so much more than a contest; it was a showcase of genuine respect and chemistry between two of the division’s top stars.

After SummerSlam, Ripley and Sky’s feud started to shift. Instead of barbs, there were backstage nods and signs of support. Suddenly, the two women who couldn’t stand to lose to each other were teaming up to have each other’s backs. Fans saw it during multi-woman matches and even behind the scenes, moments where Sky would rush in to help Rhea Ripley (and vice versa), sometimes even ignoring her own stablemate Asuka’s orders.

Asuka Warns Rhea Ripley On WWE RAW

Asuka and Kairi Sane have been tight with Sky for years. They built dominant teams like Damage CTRL and the Kabuki Warriors together. But with Ripley’s influence growing, the 9-time champion began to feel left out, worried that Sky’s loyalty was slipping and the group’s tight bond was unraveling. It all boiled over backstage when Asuka spotted Sky hugging Ripley after a match. That scene pushed The Empress of Tomorrow over the edge.

As Sky keeps siding with Mami, Asuka sees it as a sign of betrayal. This new friendship could spark brand-new rivalries and dramatic twists for WWE’s women’s division. According to Cory Hays of Bodyslam, WWE is now planning a feud between Asuka and Rhea Ripley.

On the September 1 edition of Monday Night RAW, Asuka crashed Rhea Ripley’s backstage interview to warn her to stay away from SKY. Ripley chose to ignore the threat, but Asuka made it abundantly clear that failing to comply would result in severe repercussions.
