A WWE legend is set to enter the squared circle eight years after they last wrestled.

The Great Khali was the first Indian wrestler to be signed by the Stamford promotion.

The 7-foot behemoth made an immediate impact by starting a feud with The Undertaker, whom he defeated at the Judgment Day pay-per-view in 2006.

Incidentally, his first loss came against the same opponent during an episode of SmackDown.

After being drafted to RAW the following year, he picked a feud with Kane, defeating him in their singles match at WrestleMania 23.

He subsequently entered a feud with then-champion John Cena, who beat him across several meetings.

In June 2007, he won a 20-man battle royal on RAW to win the vacant World Heavyweight Championship for the first and only time in his career. His 3-month title reign ended at Unforgiven.

During his time in WWE, The Great Khali has been involved in multiple high-profile rivalries and also in comedic storylines, including one where he was portrayed as the Punjabi Playboy.

He departed the company in November 2014 after his contract expired.

WWE Hall of Famer Returns To The Ring In 2026

After leaving WWE, The Great Khali contemplated bringing professional wrestling to India, which resulted in the setting up of Continental Wrestling Entertainment in 2015.

CWE, based in Jalandhar, saw its trainees like Kavita Devi and Dilsher Shanky join the company.

Since his departure, Khali has made sporadic appearances, even competing at the 2018 Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia, which was his final match.

As part of CWE, he is set to make his in-ring return in January 2026. According to a social media post by his academy, he will challenge Parker Bordeaux, who has previously represented both WWE and AEW.

The Great Khali was inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame Class of 2021.
