WWE Legend Blasts Will Ospreay, Claims He’s Not “Smart To The Business”
A WWE Hall of Famer says Will Ospreay’s recent comments show he doesn’t understand the wrestling business.
On the April 10th episode of AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay fired back at Triple H, after being less than impressed by comments he made ahead of WrestleMania.
During an interview segment, Ospreay said the only reason the WWE boss is in his job is because he was “grinding” on the boss’ daughter.
While many fans were unsurprised by the jab given the relationship between WWE and AEW, other wrestling figures felt it was unnecessary.
Speaking on Kliq This, Kevin Nash — a close personal friend of Triple H, discussed the impact the comment could have should Ospreay want to work in WWE in the future.
If you got the balls to fu**ing take a shot at the fu**ing boss’s wife and then you got you got the balls to fu**ing show up and ask for a fu**ing job, he better fu**ing be able to have the balls to take whatever he’s gonna dish.”
Nash added that the line showed Ospreay is “indie-riffic” and “isn’t smart to the business.”
“Everything’s a work. Is he an exceptional talent for that style? Absolutely. Is there a place for him in this fu**ing business for Will? Absolutely.
Paul didn’t mention him by name, therefore there’s no reason to get ass hurt. It shows why he’s an indie-rific guy. It shows why he didn’t make the move. He’s not smart to the business. Jade was. Jade was smart. Look at Jade.”
What Did Triple H Say About Will Ospreay Turning Down WWE?
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show ahead of WrestleMania 40, Triple H said some didn’t want to “grind” to be with WWE, and when he sees those people sign elsewhere, he’s glad he never signed them.
Many took those comments to be a personal shot at Ospreay.
It’s since been reported that Will Ospreay believed his jab at Triple H was more than justified.
The British star felt the comment from Triple H was a cheap shot given that he’d been respectful when discussing WWE, and those involved in negotiations were aware of why he wanted to remain living in the UK. Given the circumstances and the comments themselves, Ospreay felt he was more than within his rights to hit back.
