WWE Showcase Hall Of Famers At Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE celebrated a number of Hall Of Famers at Saturday Night’s Main Event on 25th January.

The Frost Bank Center in San Antonio hosted the second edition of the show since it’s revival, with the presentation once again featuring a number of nods to the past.

The first edition of the show on 14th December saw multiple WWE Hall Of Famers receive thunderous ovations when introduced to the crowd whilst sitting ringside, a trend that continued with a number of popular former Superstars showcased in San Antonio.

‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted Dibiase, who competed in multiple bouts during the shows original run, was featured in the show’s opening montage as he emerged from a beautiful vintage cadillac before delivering his trademark laugh as he walked backstage.

Dibiase was amongst a number of legends introduced during the night including 83 year-old Dory Funk Jr, ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan and Texas’ own former WWE Champion, Mark Henry.

Alundra Blayze was also in attendance holding the WWE Women’s Championship that she famously threw in a trashcan during the Monday Night Wars whilst there was also warm applause for former WWE Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard.

Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura was once again on-hand in a hosting capacity alongside Joe Tessitore. The pair delivered analysis from a podium that has been dubbed as ‘The Okerlund Position’ in tribute to legendary announcer Mean’ Gene Okerlund.

WWE Legend Takes Blame For Jesse Ventura Issues

Legendary WWE Hall Of Fame announcer Jim Ross has taken responsibility for his on-screen relationship with Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura failing to gel.

Ross and Ventura were behind the announcing desk together in World Championship Wrestling after ‘The Body’ joined the company in 1992, but failed to demonstrate the chemistry that the outspoken commentator had previously enjoyed with both Vince McMahon and Gorilla Monsoon in WWE.

Jim Ross recently revealed that his jealousy regarding Ventura’s paycheck was the reason the pair failed as a partnership.
