WWE Hall Of Famer Doesn’t Want To See Goldberg Retirement Tour

Goldberg

Goldberg may have wrestled for the last time in WWE but the star wants one last moment in the sun before hanging up his boots for good – something that not everyone agrees with.

The last time multi-time former World Champion Goldberg stepped inside the squared circle was when he competed in a losing effort for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber. His contract would go on to expire with WWE at the end of the year, and he is now considered a free agent.

The WWE Hall of Famer recently revealed that he’s “leaning towards” a self-promoted retirement tour but one of his former bosses hopes that he doesn’t go through with it.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff noted that he doesn’t think a Goldberg retirement tour would work out well for the star and says he wishes he doesn’t go through with it:

“There’s not generations of Bill Goldberg fans out there, there are generations of Ric Flair fans out there, Ric Flair is arguably as popular today in many respects. Bill, comparatively speaking has been in the business for five minutes when you compare him to someone like Ric Flair. I hope he gets a lot of money upfront, let’s just put it that way.

“I don’t want to see a lesser version of Bill Goldberg get back into the ring and again, if he doesn’t need the money and I can’t imagine that he does, I don’t know why he’d do it. I just wish he wouldn’t do it. Here’s the other thing, you want to be remembered for being at your peak.”

One AEW star has also named Goldberg as a potential dream opponent that he wants to mix it up with before the former WCW World Champion finally does call it a day.
