WWE Considering Reuniting Iconic Tag Team

WWE is planning to reunite an iconic tag team duo.

The Lucha Brothers is a former tag team comprising Penta and Rey Fenix, who first wrestled under the name in 2018 at Major League Wrestling.

The real-life siblings also competed together on All Elite Wrestling, where they won the World Tag Team Championship once.

They debuted in WWE three months apart in 2025, with Penta assigned to RAW and Fenix to SmackDown.

With the Lucha Brothers wrestling on different brands, the possibility of a reunion seemed unlikely, until now.

On the September 15 edition of the red brand, Penta faced Kofi Kingston in a singles match, which he won. However, he was later attacked backstage by The New Day, prompting discussions about a possible team-up with Fenix.

Andrade’s WWE Departure Seemingly Paved The Way For The Lucha Brothers Reunion

Over the last couple of days, reports of Andrade’s departure from WWE have dominated the wrestling industry.

It happened under mysterious circumstances, which was later revealed as disciplinary issues resulting in the 35-year-old’s dismissal.

Rey Fenix had formed a robust tag team combination with Andrade, and was even scheduled to feature in a tag team titles match to face The Wyatt Sicks at Clash in Paris PLE.

However, WWE was forced to make creative changes, resulting in both Andrade and Rey Fenix missing TV time.

Bodyslam.net has reported Fenix’s creative plans have changed following Andrade’s exit.

Rey Fénix’s immediate creative plans are now currently being reshuffled due to Andrade’s departure from WWE. The idea of reuniting Fénix and Pénta – The Lucha Brothers has been discussed, but nothing is confirmed or imminent as of right now. [H/T: Ringside News]

At present, there is no timeline as to when the altered storyline will be implemented.
