WWE’s Big E Frustrated By Trolls After Being Kicked Out Of The New Day
Big E isn’t enjoying all the trolls that are attacking him after he was dismissed from The New Day.
There was a big celebration on the December 2, 2024 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw when The New Day was supposed to celebrate ten years together.
Going into that show, it appeared as though Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were going to split up since Woods had displayed an edgier attitude that Kofi didn’t like. Instead, Big E showed up to try to get his good friends back on the same page.
That didn’t work because Kofi and Woods blasted Big E for getting injured in March 2022 when Ridge Holland gave him a suplex on the floor, which badly injured Big E’s neck. Big E didn’t need surgery, which Kofi and Woods mentioned, but Big E has yet to be cleared to return to the ring. It’s not known if the former WWE Champion E will ever be cleared to return to the ring.
In his time away from the ring, Big E has made a successful transition to becoming a WWE panelist on Countdown and Post-Show productions and has also done acting work.
During an interview with X-Pod 97, Big E talked about that angle on Raw that saw him removed from The New Day group that he created with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods over a decade ago. The former powerhouse of the New Day is proud of the segment he was involved in.
“In this industry, you have to evolve. Even when you find gold, you can sometimes stay on the same path. Once people love you and you get the chants down, you can kind of keep coasting, but then that’s all you are. I’m trying to swim through delicate lanes here. I’m very proud of what we built as a collective. We were three guys who were trying to save our careers.
Now, for better or worse, the wrestling world is talking about those two again. I feel a fire has been ignited again. I’m really proud of what we’ve built. I’m proud of where I am in my life. I’m proud of standing on my principles. Wrestling is about delivering those moments. Title reigns are important, to a degree. Length of reign, all those things.
You can talk about titles, championships, and 14 times. What really attracts me to our industry is those moments. I had never seen anything done like what we did in that ring before. I can’t think of any other turn that went the way it did. Ultimately, I’m really happy.”
Online Trolls Are Annoying Big E After The New Day Split
While Big E did appreciate the performance involved with The New Day kicking out of the group, he hasn’t enjoyed dealing with online trolls that support Kingston and Woods.
“It’s funny because before that segment, it was positivity and, ‘I’m happy for you. I hope you get better.’ Now, I have so many pro-Kofi and Woods trolls every time I post about Spider-Man or the Fiesta Bowl. ‘Kofi and Woods were right. You be everywhere but the ring.’
I broke my neck, that’s why. They opened the door for all these idiots coming in and talking about everything I’m doing outside of the ring.”
