WWE Gave Becky Lynch “Very Bad” Idea To Announce Pregnancy

Becky Lynch claims that WWE’s idea for her pregnancy announcement was very bad compared to what happened on Raw.

It was four years ago, in December 2020, when Becky Lynch and her husband Seth Rollins announced that she had given birth to their daughter Roux. It was a moment of celebration for two of WWE’s biggest stars of this era having a child together.

Becky Lynch announced her pregnancy on the May 11, 2020 edition of Raw at a time when WWE was doing their shows out of the Performance Center due to the COVID-19 shutting down the world in March 2020.

At the time of the announcement, Lynch was the Raw Women’s Champion, which meant that she had to forfeit the title. Lynch announced that she couldn’t fight anymore and informed Women’s Money in the Bank winner Asuka that she was the new Raw Women’s Champion. Lynch would go on to announce that she was pregnant, which led to a big hug from her friend Asuka.

Becky Lynch Fought Against WWE’s Idea For Pregnancy Announcement

During a recent appearance at the Vulture Festival, Becky Lynch revealed that WWE’s creative team led by Vince McMahon came up with an idea that she didn’t like for the pregnancy announcement, so Lynch fought them on it. According to Lynch, what was presented on TV was better than what the creative team wanted.

“The whole thing was supposed to go down in this crazy way, where they wanted me coming out and challenging the backstage interviewer. Then Asuka would come out, and I would say all these just elaborate, robust words. It was bad. It was just very bad. But I was also very hormonal. I was ready to punch somebody.

You got to know what hills to die on. When you’re early weeks of pregnancy, you don’t know those hills. You’ll die on all of them. I was ready to fight, and I fought. It was better than it was otherwise intended.”

When Becky Lynch wrote about her pregnancy in her book, she revealed that she was worried Vince McMahon might fire her due to being pregnant, but instead, Vince was very happy and excited for her.

As for her future, Lynch has been without a WWE contract since the spring, but there is optimism that Lynch will return to WWE to continue her career as one of the greatest women’s superstars in the history of the company.
