Wrestling Show Featuring CM Punk Cancelled
It’s not been a great few weeks for CM Punk.
Before making it to the ring in Wembley Stadium for AEW All In, CM Punk was involved in a backstage altercation with Jack Perry. The incident stemmed from an earlier situation where Punk had stopped Perry from using real glass in a spot on Collision.
As a result of an investigation into the incident and previous behaviour during his time in AEW, CM Punk was fired “with cause, effective immediately” on the day before the All Out pay-per-view in Chicago.
Since then Punk has returned to his role as a commentator for Cage Fury Fighting Championships with him and his fellow announcers poking fun at his situation. CM Punk did raise eyebrows when he suggested he was free for the next two months with all eyes on what might happen when WWE brings Survivor Series to his hometown in November.
CM Punk starred as Ricky Rabies in Heels
While speculation swirls about Punk returning to WWE, one job he won’t be returning to is an actor on the Starz series Heels. The drama series stars Stephen Amell as one of two brothers fighting to keep their late father’s small wrestling promotion running in Georgia.
The show ran for two seasons but Variety has now reported that it has been cancelled alongside other Starz shows Run The World, Blindspotting, and The Venery of Samantha Bird – the latter of which hadn’t even aired.
