Update On WWE Free Agents Following Draft

The WWE Draft has been and gone but for some stars in the company, their future remains uncertain after they were left undrafted.

Every main roster star was eligible for the draft alongside some selected NXT talent but in the end, it is the developmental brand that may have lost out the most with both the NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre joining the main roster.

SmackDown gained the overall number one pick on Friday night and it was no surprise when they drafted the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and Solo Sikoa. Raw’s first pick went to Cody Rhodes who will surely be in the running for the newly introduced WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

It was all change for the main roster’s women’s division as SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair were traded to the opposite show, meaning another post-brand title switch could be in their future.

The draft threw up a number of free agents as a result with Brock Lesnar, Baron Corbin, Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler, Elias, Mustafa Ali, Omos w/MVP, Von Wagner, and Xyon Quinn all remaining undrafted.

Now PWInsider has reported that fans shouldn’t expect much to happen immediately with the free agents as they are likely to remain as such until WWE Creative comes up with a use for them.

Brock Lesnar is the highest-profile of those still undrafted but The Beast Incarnate has been a part of Monday Night Raw in recent weeks as he continues his feud with Cody Rhodes. The two stars will clash again following Rhodes’ win at Backlash at the upcoming Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.
