The official signing of Joe Hendry by WWE was recently confirmed.

Despite earlier being on TNA, Hendry made regular NXT appearances, either in matches or in backstage segments, sparking speculations about a potential move to the Stamford promotion.

Having officially signed with WWE, he is now designated for the NXT brand.

The Scot competed on Week 1 of NXT Gold Rush, teaming up with Thea Hail to challenge for Chelsea Green and Ethan Page’s AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship.

While the babyfaces lost the bout, they did put on an impressive show.

Meanwhile, the details of Joe Hendry’s contract with the company have also been speculated. During a recent Q&A segment, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful made a surprising revelation about the 37-year-old’s contract.

Sapp claimed that despite being assigned to the NXT brand, Hendry’s deal allows him to earn main roster figures.

Well, he’s on a main roster level deal from what I understand. By that, I mean making above the main roster minimum.

I think with him coming in, we’re likely to see a Ricky Saints or Ethan Page move up, and then Hendry is the next guy up on NXT with familiarity outside WWE. But that’s just a hunch. I think he will be Mr. Iguana-esque, where he pops up here and there as well. [H/T: Ringside News]

Before joining WWE, Joe Hendry had multiple stints with TNA, during which he won the TNA World Championship and Impact Digital Media Championship once each.

Joe Hendry’s WWE Contract Duration

Joe Hendry’s deal with WWE reveals how highly he is regarded as a performer by the company’s higher-ups.

His salary resembling those of a main roster talent means that he will make around $300,000 – $400,000, excluding pay-per-view earnings, merch sales, and other bonuses.

As of this moment, the duration of his contract remains unknown, although generally, NXT deals usually extend up to three years.
