Massive Update On Britt Baker’s AEW Contract Amid WWE Rumors
Britt Baker’s lengthy absence from AEW continues to raise eyebrows.
Fans of the Florida-based company highly hoped for the 34-year-old to mark her return during last week’s Dynamite taping in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
However, she never showed up.
Britt Baker’s last appearance for the promotion was on November 13, 2024, where she defeated Penelope Ford in a singles match.
Amid her absence, there have been rumors about her wanting to leave the promotion for WWE.
Sean Ross Sapp provided an update on her situation during a Q&A on Fightful Select. He revealed that Tony Khan could add injury time to her contract, extending it till 2027.
Her contract goes at least a year. At least a year. And then they could add injury time to it, assuming it’s like every other deal. That would take her well into 2027.
He further claimed that she was ready to return, but AEW has yet to approach her.
From what I understand, she’s been willing to come back. She’s healthy… All that. She had worked through injuries for years, then had to take time off, had some really terrible stuff happen to her and didn’t get the appropriate reps in. I do think we’ll see her again… They just didn’t do it. [H/T: Ringside News]
Mercedes Mone Hints At Tension With Britt Baker
Since debuting on AEW in March 2024, Mercedes Mone has been on the top of her game. She has won multiple titles across various promotions and registed only 1 loss in singles competition.
She was also the one to beat Britt Baker to capture the TBS title at All In: London in 2024.
During one of her live streams, the 33-year-old hinted at a possible backstage heat with Baker while replying to a fan’s request about a rematch.
Meanwhile, AEW higher-ups have claimed that Britt Baker has no plans to leave the promotion.
