Britt Baker Looking To Force AEW Exit, Company Makes Position Clear

The relationship between AEW and Britt Baker has seemingly reached a breaking point.

Britt Baker hasn’t wrestled since beating Penelope Ford on the November 13, 2024, edition of Dynamite, but it was her actions after the final bell rang that grabbed the headlines.

While still in the ring, AEW’s resident dentist was confronted by Serena Deeb, who appeared on the ramp. But as cameras panned back to Baker to get her reaction, she repeated the phrase “nobody cares” loudly and directly into the TV camera.

This was followed by a report in January that suggested Tony Khan had become so fed up with Britt Baker that she may never wrestle for AEW again.

The report said Baker was widely unpopular in the locker room and was known to be difficult to work with. However, a later update disputed those claims.

“Nothing Left” For Britt Baker In AEW

On July 1, Baker decided to lean into the speculation around her future on social media, hinting that she feels undervalued in AEW and is prepared to move on. Meanwhile, a new report has all but confirmed that this is the case.

According to the update from Bodyslam.net, Baker is actively trying to get out of the five-year All Elite contract she signed back in late 2021. The star is said to feel that there’s nothing left for her in the company and that the environment has “changed around her.” Should the former Women’s Champion become a free agent, AEW is under the impression WWE would be interested in signing her.

However, unfortunately for Baker, AEW reportedly has no interest in releasing her from her deal.

“The internal belief is they don’t want any upcoming WWE Pittsburgh shows to be announced — as well as Evolution to pass — before letting anything move forward.”

Although a return to an AEW ring now appears unlikely, Thunder Rosa recently pitched a “Hair vs. Hair Match” between the pair at All In Texas. Baker and Rosa have a rivalry stretching back to 2021, and earlier reports have suggested there was very real heat between the pair.
