Triple H Credits Hall Of Famer For WWE-Lucha Libre AAA Success

Triple H WWE SummerSlam

The WWE-Lucha Libre AAA partnership has flourished beyond expectations.

Under the leadership of Paul “Triple H” Levesque, the Stamford promotion acquired AAA in April 2025.

Shawn Michaels, who oversees NXT, was brought on board to assemble a team responsible for leading Lucha Libre under World Wrestling Entertainment.

The list also contained WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker.

The brands kicked off their association with the Worlds Collide event in June, receiving high praise.

On August 16, they produced their second supercard event, Triplemania XXXIII from Mexico City.

In a behind-the-scenes video, Triple H praised Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker for their contributions to the event’s success.

Here I am with the two guys I respected the most of my generation. As if this wasn’t big enough, having that opportunity, I can’t even describe it.

If you would have told me 20 years ago that one of the big driving forces behind AAA in Mexico would be the Undertaker, it would be hard for me to sort of wrap my head around that. [H/T: Fightful]

Triple H Spreads Message Of Positivity Ahead Of Triplemania XXXIII

Before the Triplemania XXXIII event commenced, Triple H organized a brief chat with the AAA talent backstage.

He was accompanied by WWE President Nick Khan, AAA CEO Dorian Roldan, and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels.

The Game clarified that he aimed to make the promotion as big as possible with no intentions of overtaking or changing it.

I want to make sure everyone understands that we’re not here to change this. We’re not here to take this over. We’re not here to make it something different. We’re here to do this with you, to enhance what you do, and make it grow beyond anybody’s wildest dreams. Let’s take on this tonight and build on it from here.

All you guys have been doing it now, we’re going to do it together, so let’s turn this into the biggest thing we can possibly think of, let’s dream big and go to work to make this everything we want it to be.

During Triplemania, it was announced that the promotions will collaborate again to produce a supercard event in September. Read about it here.
