Triple H Confirms Pat McAfee’s WWE Return
Pat McAfee is just weeks away from returning to WWE.
It’s been announced that WWE will kick off its new ESPN era on September 20 with Wrestlepalooza. The event will be the first run under the Wrestlepalooza banner since ECW used the name in 1995, 1997, 1998, and 2000.
Wrestlepalooza is set to be held at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, and it seems that a former Indianapolis Colts favourite will be there.
During an appearance on SportsCenter, Triple H confirmed that Pat McAfee will feature at the event, ending his current WWE hiatus.
Where Has Pat McAfee Been?
Back in June, McAfee disappeared from Monday Night Raw without explanation, and he was initially replaced by SmackDown commentator Wade Barrett.
As his absence continued, on an episode of his podcast, Pat McAfee cited exhaustion as the reason behind his absence. As a result, there have been suggestions that the star may never return to WWE on a full-time basis.
Continuing to just like kinda catch up on life as a whole. Post-Money in the Bank, pre-Night of Champions…was getting pretty exhausted there. So shout out to everybody at WWE for looking out for me too. Very, very thankful.
With McAfee taking a break, Corey Graves moved back to Monday Night Raw. The return was especially noteworthy as earlier in the year, Graves hit out at WWE on social media after being moved to NXT to help make way for McAfee on Raw.
Since then, Corey Graves has been earning rave reviews both inside and outside of the company, with one higher-up admitting they had sympathy with the commentator’s situation earlier back in January.
