Why Travis Scott Really Slapped Cody Rhodes Silly In WWE Ring
Travis Scott was acting under orders when he slapped Cody Rhodes.
In the moments after John Cena turned heel and beat down Cody Rhodes, the American Nightmare was slapped in the face by Travis Scott, who had joined The Rock in the ring. To add insult to literal injury, Rhodes was lying flat on the canvas at the time of the shot and didn’t have a chance to protect himself.
Following the event, it was reported that Cody Rhodes suffered an injury in the attack. It’s believed that he was given a black eye and a “busted eardrum,” likely from the shot from Scott.
A further report claimed Travis Scott had “all kinds of heat” with WWE as a result, despite suggestions he’d been training as a wrestler.
Who Was Behind Cody Rhodes Slap?
While appearing on The Ankler’s Business of Entertainment program at NAB Show, Nick Khan and Triple H discussed Cena’s heel turn and Scott’s thundering slap. Khan revealed that it was The Rock who told Scott to “slap the sh*t” out of Rhodes.
It was insane and Paul did tell Travis after, like, ‘Hey, you know, that was a pretty hard slap. We’ll show you how to pull your punches a little bit’ and Travis said, ‘Dwayne Johnson told me you better slap the sh*t out of him, or people are gonna think that you don’t have it. So I just did that’ and Paul chuckled and I chuckled. It was a pretty big moment for us.
Triple H joked that the only person who didn’t complain about the slap was the man on the receiving end.
It was incredible. Ironically, the only person that didn’t complain about the slap was Cody Rhodes. He just wanted it to look good and so, like I said, Travis is like a kid in a candy store in that thing. He’ll be at WrestleMania, a lot of people will be at WrestleMania and there’s a saying here that everything in Vegas stays in Vegas but, this will be the one event that whatever happens in Vegas over WrestleMania weekend will be heard worldwide.
In more recent weeks, Cody Rhodes said he’s got a receipt waiting for Scott, and he might not have to wait too much longer to deliver it with the Hip Hop star heading to WrestleMania.
