Top WWE Star Working Through An Injury
Another of WWE’s biggest names is dealing with an injury.
2024 has so far been a huge year in the career of Drew McIntyre, but it’s been revealed that the star’s progress has hit something of a roadblock.
As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, McIntyre is dealing with a “badly hyperextended elbow,” suffered during his match with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40. The Scottish star defeated Rollins at the spectacular to claim the World Heavyweight Title, only to be pinned by Damian Priest minutes later, who cashed in his Money In The Bank contract.
Despite this, McIntyre has continued to wrestle, competing three times on WWE’s recent UK tour.
It had earlier been reported that Drew McIntyre, it’s been reported that he’ll become a free agent at the end of May, as he still hasn’t signed a new contract. However, McIntyre is widely expected to stay with the sports entertainment giant.
WWE Star Undergoes Surgery
The news of the injury to McIntyre comes after Becky Lynch revealed Seth Rollins recently underwent surgery. During a media appearance in Ireland, Lynch said her husband had undergone surgery to repair a torn meniscus — the injury he suffered in the lead-up to WrestleMania 40. This means that Rollins competed twice at WrestleMania and several times in the build-up while carrying the problem.
Meanwhile, on the April 15th episode of Raw, Rhea Ripley was forced to relinquish the Women’s World Title due to injury. The Aussie star has suffered an injury to her AC joint and looks likely to miss several months of action.
